São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, July 22, 2026 – Volkswagen do Brasil has reached the historic milestone of 400,000 Saveiro pick-ups exported. A successful and trusted model for both work and leisure, the Saveiro is Volkswagen do Brasil’s second most-exported vehicle this year, behind only the Tera SUV. Between January and June 2026, 11,397 Saveiro units were shipped to 15 Latin American markets. The main destinations were Mexico (9,437 units), Uruguay (730) and Paraguay (552), followed by Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Curaçao, the Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama.

Saveiro exports began in September 1982, the same year the model was launched in Brazil. Since then, the pick-up has been exported to 65 markets across five continents. Volkswagen do Brasil is Brazil’s largest automotive exporter, with more than 4.4 million vehicles shipped to 147 markets since 1970.

Throughout this history, the Saveiro has established itself as the fourth most-exported Volkswagen model from Brazil, behind the Gol (1,564,394 units), Voyage/Gol Sedan (480,058) and Fox (470,562), with the Saveiro now reaching 400,000 exported units.

The Saveiro also continues to perform strongly in the Brazilian market. Across all vehicle segments, the pick-up ranked 13th among Brazil’s best-selling models in July, with 2,927 units sold during the month. Year-to-date, it ranked 18th with 26,192 units sold between January and July 21.

The total of more than 1.8 million units includes Saveiro production at the Anchieta plant, as well as the Taubaté (São Paulo) and São José dos Pinhais (Paraná) plants, where the pick-up was previously manufactured.

Saveiro: Volkswagen do Brasil’s Second Most-Exported Model in 2026

The Saveiro is Volkswagen do Brasil’s second most-exported model in 2026, with 11,397 units shipped to 15 Latin American markets between January and June. In Volkswagen do Brasil’s export ranking this year, only the Tera SUV ranks ahead of the Saveiro.

Between January and June 2026, 19,175 Tera units were shipped to 17 Latin American markets: Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Guatemala, Bolivia, Panama, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras, Curaçao and St. Maarten.

Volkswagen Exported More Than 51,000 Vehicles in 2026, with Growth Across Key Markets

Across its complete model portfolio, Volkswagen do Brasil exported 51,428 vehicles during the first half of 2026.

Between January and June, the brand recorded significant export growth in several key markets, including Mexico (+21%), Colombia (+38%) and Uruguay (+51%).

Volkswagen do Brasil currently exports vehicles to 25 international markets: 19 in Latin America — Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curaçao, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, Uruguay and Venezuela — and six in Africa: Rwanda, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Madagascar and Cameroon.
